Last week my fellow Siren author Claire De Lune tagged me in her Next Big Thing, so this week it’s my turn. The idea is that I answer ten questions about my latest project (My Next Big Thing) and tag five more authors who will talk about their next big thing next week.
The Next Big Thing
What is the title of your book?
The tentative title of our next book is “Double Dom Fantasies.” It’ll be part of the BDSM Menage Fantasies series from Siren.
How did you come by the idea?
I’m not really sure. Our series deals with a BDSM bed and breakfast in northern California and the people who visit it, mostly to learn more about BDSM. Crash and AJ kind of came to us wanting a book. We liked them and they basically wrote themselves, which is always fun. I think Crash is my favorite character so far of all the ones I’ve written (or channeled, as the case may be!).
What genre does your book fall under?
Erotic romance, with BDSM and menage.
Which actors would you choose to play your characters if it were a movie?
I don’t know, but I would LOVE to see Ryan Reynolds play a Dom. Maybe Karl?
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Two football players and a girl who’s lost her self-confidence find themselves at a BDSM Boot Camp and must figure out how to play together.
Will your book be self-published or traditional?
Traditional, sort of. We publish with Siren Bookstrand, which does ebooks primarily. They are available later in print but always start out as ebooks.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
This one, probably about three months. We’re getting a little quicker but it still goes slower than I’d like.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I’d love to say that our books compare to Sophie Oaks’ Bliss series if it wouldn’t sound incredibly vain of me. Sophie is a fantastic writer and I aspire to someday be half as good as her! Her writing does inspire me to try to be more humorous. I love the fact that her characters are so quirky and funny to read.
Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Well, of course Reggie “inspires” me to write with the threat of punishment!! Seriously, I am inspired by all the great Siren authors who publish amazing numbers of books every year!
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
We like to make our books educational as well as entertaining, so we incorporate lots of different kinds of BDSM play. In Double Dom Fantasies, there are a couple of fun scenes, like the one where they all go to a hardware store and talk about ways of “perverting” tools and implements of home improvement into kinky play toys. We had a really fun afternoon at Home Depot taking notes for that one!
